The audio Control Room is a warm and comfortable space with multiple monitor options and set up for stereo or 5.1 mixing. The use of colour, carpet, marble and slate fashion an amazing creative environment, complete with wireless internet for our clients. Our wide bay windows allow you to the entire live room as well as the isolation booth that also has a full glass wall for complete sight lines throughout.
The heart of the room is our SX-VSt recording system. The HD system has multiple inputs to handle a full band recording live as well as service the most popular separate tracking approach.
A host of world class gear insures fantastic final product, such as DBX, Avalon and Presonus mic re-amp's, BBE sonic, EV, Korg, Pultec eq's, Universal Audio 1176 limiting amplifiers, Teletronix LA2A leveling amplifiers and Fairchild augment the room in conjunction with award winning reverbs like the Dreamverb, Plate 140 and Realverb pro. As well there is a wide array of VST plug-ins and a full line of Waves digital audio tools.
The Live Room; this designed space is large and attractive with seemingly unlimited lighting options. The sound treatment and partial carpeting control sound but exotic hardwood floors and glass surfaces keep the room from being too 'dead' sounding. Adjustable panels and coverings allow the degree of 'liveness' to be controlled depending on the amount of ambience desired. Within the live room is an iso-booth, this room has floating walls and floor for maximum sound isolation and the treated space is completely 'quiet'. This space is ideal for recording vocals as well as many other applications.
The studios main engineer is David Pearson, he has years of experience with all genres of music and he has engineered, mixed, written and produced on many recordings that include material that has been featured on radio around the world, even charting in the US as well as Canada. He has worked on material that has been nominated for Hard Music Record of The Year and Hard Music Song of The Year (cGMA). His experience working in the music industry in Canada, The USA, Europe and now Africa allow him to bring you a skilled engineer or to be as involved as a full member of your team! He can assist you through your entire project, from the pre-production stage with budgets, schedules, hiring of musicians, song choices, writing, arranging and rehearsal, all the way to recording, mixing and mastering the final product. Actually, the studio can even further manufacture that final product!
Nathan Kojak is the second engineer and his years as a touring musician and a gifted song writer coupled with his extensive studio experience make him an invaluable asset to every project. Nathan specializes in hearing what most do not hear, the subtle nuances in the the drums tracks and extreme focus on timing and most of all he is a singers best friend, he works through vocal tracks with an artist in a way that not only improves the final product but also edifies the artist.
